Midnight Circus was created by a circus clown and a classically trained actress. In 1995, Jeffrey Jenkins and Julie Greenberg combined their talents to create a contemporary circus company in Chicago. Thier first show -The Midnight Circus: When Circus and Theater Collide -  played to critical acclaim and sold-out houses for over a year. More original shows followed, including a Shakespeare-inspired show (All the World's a Stage!) and collaborations with rock musicians (The Flower Thieves), and cabaret divas and Grammy-nominated jazz/hip-hop artists (Stilettos, Circus & Soul).

In an effort to further push the bounderies of circus, Midnight Circus, in collaboration with Grammy -nominated Mars Williams, developed an offering for music festivals. (Soul Sonic Sirkus)

In 2007, Midnight Circus solidified their commitment to community by developing Circus in the Parks with The Chicago Park District, Aldermen, Park Advisory Councils, and community volunteers. To date,  Circus in the Parks has entertained over 30,000 people and has raised over $250,000 for local park improvements.
